MARÍA CASTILLO DE LIMA
Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1985. She pursued her musical studies at the Gilardo Gilardi Conservatory in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her mentors include Adelaida Negri, Omar Brandán, Graciela Alperyn (voice), Silvina Rojas (piano), César Tello, Juan Pablo Scafidi, and Maurizio Colacicchi (repertoire). She was part of the Opera Studio and the Stable Choir of the Teatro Argentino de la Plata. María has performed leading roles in operas such as Ana Bolena, María Stuarda, Norma, Il Trovatore, Tosca, Nabucco, Adriana Lecouvreur, Andrea Chénier in numerous theaters. At the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires; she sang in Madama Butterfly (Mamma) in 2014 and has been a member of its Stable Choir since 2010. In addition to her vocal career, she excels as a composer, having created three operas, a hundred songs, instrumental chamber works, and symphonies. Miss Castillo was recognized as a Distinguished Personality of Culture by the City Council of La Plata in July 2019. Maria was also awarded as a Revelation in the Estrella de Mar Awards (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in February 2020 for the musical comedy 'La Fiesta Inolvidable' by Florencia Trinidad.
